Laser Skin Resurfacing Overview

Halo laser skin resurfacing in Austin is a non-invasive state-of-the-art procedure for achieving beautiful skin. You will see dramatic changes with minimal downtime. With Halo laser skin resurfacing, you can experience a visible level of correction of wrinkles, sunspots, and dull or uneven skin tone.

Halo Laser: Treating a range of skin concerns

Halo Laser skin resurfacing targets:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loss of a glow to your complexion
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Complexion issues
  • Large pores
  • Acne scars
  • Sun damage
  • Discoloration
  • Dark spots

Because Halo operates using two distinct wavelengths (ablative and non-ablative) to target your skin concerns on multiple levels, Halo can accomplish in 1 to 2 treatments what prior lasers could only accomplish in 5 or 6. Halo laser resurfacing is a minimally invasive treatment that can help improve skin tone and texture, skin clarity, appearance of pore size, as well as stimulate collagen for firmer, more pliable skin.

How does Halo skin resurfacing work?

The Halo laser utilizes the dual hybrid technology of non-ablative and ablative laser energy for the treatment of skin problems. This dual-wavelength laser, delivered to the same treatment zone, treats the upper and inner layers of the skin at the same time. The ablative laser works on the top layer of the skin. The non-ablative laser penetrates the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin protein production.

The treatment process

  • First, a consultation is scheduled so that our providers can better understand your skin issues and your expectations from the treatment. During this consultation, your medical history will be discussed, including any allergies and current conditions.
  • On the day of the Halo laser skin resurfacing treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the face. Your eyes are covered with shields to protect them from the effects of the laser.
  • The Halo handpiece first measures the surface area of individual sections of your face. Multiple passes are then performed to treat each section.
  • The intensity of the Halo laser can be adjusted depending on how aggressive the treatment will be. More intensive treatment will result in a little more swelling and more associated downtime. A low-intensity treatment will require more sessions but negligible downtime.
  • The laser treatment does not take much time. However, on the whole, you will have to spend about two hours at the clinic. The treatment is not painful like most lasers; you will feel heat sensations rather than pain, and your face will feel warm once the treatment is complete.

What happens after the laser skin resurfacing treatment?

Halo laser skin resurfacing does not require much downtime. The skin becomes temporarily red, and there may be some swelling, which will subside within 2-3 days. You may have redness, dryness and flaking for up to 7-10 days post-treatment. You should avoid sun exposure as much as possible during the healing process. You should not wear makeup for 24 hours after the procedure.

Aftercare instructions will be provided to you at the time of your treatment.

What are the results of Halo laser skin resurfacing?

You will start noticing the results after 2-3 days have passed. After a couple of weeks, the skin appears visibly softer and smoother. A single Halo treatment produces a better overall result than 3-4 treatment sessions with a conventional chemical peel or fractional laser.
