The Sofwave device utilizes Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology, which works by delivering ultrasound waves to the targeted skin. What Should I Expect During the Procedure?

Before your Sofwave treatment, you’ll first need to schedule a consultation with one of our medical providers at APSI. They will examine your skin, evaluate your skin rejuvenation needs, and ask you about your specific aesthetic goals. They’ll then discuss the Sofwave treatment with you, answering any questions you may have. Finally, your provider will work with you to create a custom-tailored treatment plan.

Your Sofwave treatment will be an outpatient procedure performed right at our clinic. To begin, your provider may apply a topical anesthetic to your skin in the treatment area. They will then apply the Sofwave handpiece to your skin, where it will begin to deliver ultrasound energy to the deeper layers. You may feel a slight warming sensation, but it should be relatively painless. In total, the treatment session should only take around 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

Generally, patients don’t require any recovery downtime after undergoing Sofwave treatment. You should be able to return to work and resume your normal routine immediately. You’ll also be able to resume your standard skin care regimen right away.

Am I a Candidate for Sofwave Treatment?

Adults who would like to reduce skin laxity around the face, neck, and/or jawline could be good candidates for Sofwave treatment. The treatment is effective for all skin types and tones. To be an ideal candidate, you should:

Be in generally good physical health

How Long Will It Take To See Results After Sofwave Treatment?

After your Sofwave treatment, you should start to see improvements in the health, structure, and complexion of your skin within approximately one week. As your body begins to produce more collagen, the full effects of the treatment will appear gradually, and you can usually see the final results after around three months.

How long does it take to see results?

As soon as one week, and results continue improving over several weeks to months as collagen is stimulated.

How many treatments do I need?

For face and neck generally only one treatment is needed. Some patients may need two treatments depending on baseline skin quality.

For cellulite, two treatments will be needed.

How does Sofwave work?

It uses ultrasound technology which generates heat to a certain depth. This process stimulates collagen which leads to lifted skin with fewer lines and wrinkles. It also has a cooling system for comfortability.

Does it hurt? Do I need to numb?

Patients will apply topical numbing cream about 30 minutes before treatment. We also have a Zimmer chiller to help with comfort, as well as Pronox for an extra fee ($25-$50 depending on length of treatment).

With numbing cream, the treatment is very tolerable.

How long does the treatment take?

15 minutes to 1 hour depending on how many areas are being treated.
