Female with Capsular Contracture Needing New Implant*

Procedure Details

The patient first came to Dr. Gorman seeking advice on a possible ruptured implant. After examination Dr. Gorman found that she had Baker III capsular contractor and the only way to truly know if there is a rupture was to undergo an implant exchange. The patient was the perfect candidate for a bilateral open capsulectomy with implant exchange to help determine if it was a rupture and to correct the Baker III capsular contractor. During surgery, Dr. Gorman found both 25 year old implants to be ruptured. Once the implants were removed Dr. Gorman then placed a 450 cc implant in the left pocket and a 475 cc implant in her right pocket for symmetry. He used Mentor Moderate Profile Plus gel silicone implants. The patient recovered well and was very happy with her results.
