Radiesse is one of the newest cosmetic dermal fillers that is injected into the skin to add volume back into the skin. This injectable by our board-certified plastic surgeons at Austin Plastic Surgery Institute is used to correct parts of the body where unwanted wrinkles have developed or sagging has occurred. For example, facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth that come with age) and grooves around the mouth area, can be effectively treated.
Radiesse consists of tiny calcium-based particles (injected with a very fine needle) that not only replace volume lost, but also stimulate new collagen growth for longer-lasting cosmetic results. The calcium-based microspheres form a scaffold around which the body produces new collagen to naturally restore the full, youthful beauty of the face. With no downtime, this injection is quick and will have you in and out of our Austin, TX office in no time.
"Dr. Gorman and his staff are absolutely amazing! They are genuinely nice people and go above and beyond to answer all your questions and make you feel comfortable with getting your surgery. I have never been at a doctor's office that is so warm and inviting. I am so glad I found Dr. Gorman and highly recommend him. I would also like to recommend Lauren for your Botox needs. She is absolutely amazing and so sweet and gentle. I love her so much! Thank you Dr. Gorman and staff! Y'all are the best!"- M.W. / Facebook / Feb 06, 2017
"Dr. William Gorman is phenomenal surgeon. He has always been honest and upfront with me about everything especially regarding the procedure that I was interested in including the negatives, but encouraging at the same time. Dr. Gorman's confidence gave me confidence so I moved forward with my surgery. My surgery went more than well. My recovery was such a smooth transition and that was because of Margaret, whom is the office manager and also nurse for Dr. Gorman. Margaret understood what I was feeling and experiencing, physically and emotionally. Overall, my experience with Dr. Gorman, Margaret, his staff and most importantly the procedure was perfect."- N.S. / Google / May 06, 2017
"Wow! I had amazing results from Lauren at ASPI Skin Care Clinic, who did Botox and a couple of different fillers Lauren has an exceptional ability to assess what I needed and she understood exactly what I told her I was looking to achieve. At first I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to communicate what I wanted, but I was extremely happy with how well Lauren understood and I ended up with exactly what I wanted. She is skilled with precision and has a very gentle approach. I would highly recommend Lauren."- S.C. / Yelp / Apr 25, 2017
"Dr. Haydon does great work. Very happy with results still now 5 years out."- J. / Google / Mar 29, 2017
"Dr. Wilder is awesome. He fixed my capsular contracture in left breast from a previous Dr. and his whole team is a solid and upbeat unit. I really appreciated his bedside manner. After a lot of consultations you realize there are a lot of doctors who A. Tell you what you want to hear and promise you the moon B. Automatically tell you the most expensive option is the best idea or C. Tell you you would look TERRIBLE a certain size (yes this happened with a Dr. T. here in Austin.) Anyways, I felt Dr. Wilder was very transparent and realistic with me and my expectations and gave his honest opinion. He definitely took the time to answer my million questions he probably gets daily like it was his first time hearing it. If you're searching, at least do yourself a favor and consult with him. His Nurse Tricia is also a sweetheart and super attentive and it was the best anesthesia experience I've ever had. Mitzi, who helped me with scheduling and paperwork is also sweet as pie. Thanks Dr. Wilder!"- E.F. / Yelp / Mar 02, 2017
Radiesse can be injected during an office visit in just 30 minutes. Before the procedure, the injection areas will be marked and cleaned. A local anesthetic may be used for additional comfort, however the filler itself is mixed with an anesthetic called Lidocaine. Using a syringe, the surgeon will inject the Radiesse filler into the skin. Following the procedure, patients may feel numb or experience redness near the injection sites, which normally subsides in a short time. There is no downtime, and patients are able to return to work following their appointment.
What to Expect@headingTag>
Patients should notice a difference to their face almost immediately following a Radiesse injection. However, because the injection ingredient works to produce and stimulate collagen development, results will be longer lasting than some of the other fillers on the market. Patients should expect results that include added volume to the face which will smooth out wrinkle, and typically last up to one year. Patients can repeat this procedure when they feel their results are no longer visible.

What About Other Fillers?@headingTag>
Patients who are considering an injectable filler as part of their cosmetic treatment have a diverse selection of fillers to choose from. Fillers such as Radiesse are considered temporary, even though the results may last up to a full year. Common filler procedures include collagen, calcium hydroxyapatite, hyaluronic acid, polylactic acid, and the heaviest of the fillers, PMMA. During your consultation, we will discuss the various fillers and evaluate your facial tone, laxity, and volume levels to help you decide which filler may be the best choice.
What Makes Radiesse Different?@headingTag>
Radiesse is the only dermal filler composed of calcium-based microspheres, which are comparable to hyaluronic acid injectable fillers due to the natural ability to stimulate collagen production. The results slightly vary from the two types of fillers, and generally patients are more pleased with results from Radiesse.
What About Side Effects?@headingTag>
Patients undergoing Radiesse may have mild redness, bruising, numbness and/or itching that occur following treatment. These are temporary side effects that usually disappear within a day or two.
